Solitude

Gouache and graphite on paper 18″x24″

I made this while I was in New York and surrounded by strangers. This made me more aware of the relationship I had with myself. To portray this feeling I went to Washington Square Park and began to play solitaire over top of one of the chess tables. I translated this into a painting while intentionally changing details from reality.

WORK 02
